Summer school 2015

The summer school on European Union and the Law of the Sea, a project unique of its kind, will be held for three consecutive years, alternatively, in Italy and Germany. The venue for 2015 will be the town of Imperia, located on Italy’s north-western coast, easily reachable via the Genoa or Nice airports and home to a University campus where the event will take place from 31 August – 11 September 2015.

The summer school aims to attract doctoral and post doctoral students, as well as researchers and young professionals not only in law, political science and international and European studies, but also from other sea-related sectors, such as maritime economics and marine science, where an understanding of the impact of EU law is becoming more and more essential.

Among the (confirmed) speakers will be the Head of the Legal Office of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, a member of the faculty of the World Maritime University and at least one government official of a Member State, in addition to practitioners academics from the University of Genoa and other Italian and foreign Universities.
