PROF. DR. IRIS KIRCHNER-FREIS, LL.M.
Biography
Prof. Kirchner-Freis is founding director of the Institute for IT, Media and Intellectual Property Law (MLS LEGAL), an independent research institute of the Hugo Grotius gGmbH – non-profit and independent society for the advancement of legal sciences.
The Hugo Grotius is a research society and a non-governmental organization since 2014, based in Bremen, Germany.
She is a professor for German and European IT, Media and Intellectual Property Law at the University of Bremen since 2014. Moreover, she is an attorney-at-law (Rechtsanwältin) since 2001 as well as a certified lawyer (Fachanwältin) in copyright and media law and a certified lawyer (Fachanwältin) in intellectual property law.
Prof. Dr. Kirchner-Freis is specialized in EU law, with a special focus on IT, media and intellectual property law since 1997 — including marine genetic resources / BBNJ.
